"One more thing," Eights added, already fading at the edges. "When you talk to her? Don't order a latte. Order something with bourbon in it. Life's too short for caffeine alone." Leo grabbed his jacket
"I want you to earn the right to keep me," Eights said. "Go talk to the coffee shop girl. Call your mom back. Apologize to your junior dev. Do three real things. Then, if you still want company afterward, reinstall me. I'll be here."
And then he was gone. Just the silver icon on the desktop, waiting.
Leo hated how accurate that was. "I talk to JIRA tickets."
