In the vast landscape of Islamic literature, the Sirah Nabawiyah (the Prophetic Biography) holds a unique place, serving as a detailed guide to the life, character, and mission of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Among contemporary Indonesian scholars, Ustadz Dr. Khalid Basalamah, Lc., M.A. , has produced a notable contribution to this field with his multi-volume work, simply titled Sirah Nabawiyah .
This book is not merely a translation of classical texts; it is a direct transcription and compilation of Ustadz Khalid Basalamah’s popular and long-running lecture series on the subject. As a prolific speaker known for his clear, evidence-based, and emotionally engaging style, his written work carries the same pedagogical DNA. The primary source material for this book is the canonical work Ar-Rahiq al-Makhtum (The Sealed Nectar) by Safiur Rahman Mubarakpuri, a standard and highly respected text in Salafi-oriented scholarship. However, Ustadz Khalid expands upon it significantly. He incorporates cross-references from other major hadith collections (such as Sahih Bukhari and Muslim) and classical Sirah works by Ibn Ishaq, Ibn Hisham, and Al-Waqidi.
