This paper examines the feasibility, methodology, and limitations of downloading and installing Canon EOS Utility 2 (a legacy camera control and image transfer software) on Microsoft Windows 10. While Canon has released newer versions (EOS Utility 3), many users still require version 2 for compatibility with older DSLR models (e.g., EOS 5D Mark II, EOS 7D, EOS 450D). This research provides a step-by-step protocol for acquisition, installation, and troubleshooting, alongside a risk assessment of using unsupported software. The paper concludes that while EOS Utility 2 can be made to function on Windows 10, users must employ specific workarounds for driver signing, USB recognition, and 64-bit compatibility. 1.
