At eighteen, she left for Milan on a false scholarship. There, she worked as a lab assistant for a luxury brand that tested on rabbits and dreams. One night, mixing a batch of waterproof mascara, she added a drop of liquid silver, a tear from a broken pipette, and a whisper of ozone. The formula shimmered.
