Putting on a good pair of cans and listening to this master tape transfer isn’t just listening to an album. It’s stepping into the room where the 20th century’s last great dance revolution collided with gritty, street-level reality. By 1979, Donna Summer was the undisputed Queen. But she was bored of the orchestral lushness of Love to Love You Baby . She wanted grit.
