She watches the door, waiting. The card sits face-up on her lap. She mouths the last line silently: “Get well soon. So I can make you sick again.” Simultaneous dialogue (overlapping, whisper-to-whisper): Him: “You wanted someone to need you this much.” Her: “You said you’d never leave.” Him: “I’m not leaving. I’m just keeping you weak.” Her: “That’s love, right?” Him: “That’s the only kind we know.” FINAL SPLIT – THE DOORBELL Left: He closes the pill tray. Smiles at his reflection. Puts on a jacket. “You always said you’d do anything for me. I’m just collecting.” She frowns, then smiles faintly — as if remembering something she’s not supposed to enjoy.
