George Strait Album: “Lead On”
Description :
Personnel: George Strait (vocals); Brent Mason (acoustic & electric guitars), Paul Franklin (steel guitar); Steve Nathan (organ, synthesizer), Glenn Worf (bass); Eddie Bayers (drums); Curtis Young, Liana Manis (background vocals). <p>Everyone loves George Strait. From country fans to rock critics, George Strait is singled out as the PURE country artist. On LEAD ON, his admirers have new reason to follow. <p>His unadulterated country sound, awash in steel, fiddles and clean guitar picking, is swept by the deep waves of his distinctive Texas baritone. From the cajun dance beat of "Adalida" to the maxi-traditional "I Met A Friend Of Yours Today," Strait runs the gamut of tasty and tasteful country. No filler, no radio junkfood, just a lesson to all the wannabes, this is Country Music 101. <p>"Nobody Gets Hurt," by Jim Lauderdale (a Strait favorite) and Terry McBride, is a contemporary country classic with an old-time bass shuffle that makes it sound warmly familiar. "Down Louisiana Way" sounds like a frisky Lucinda Williams cover. "The Big One" is classic Straitabilly, an unobtrusive marriage of rock and country. "Lead On" is a gentle ballad, with dead-on delivery and phrasing. <p>Every cut is restrained, no excesses, but there's no holding back either. The tear in Strait's beer is as salty as any other country singer, and when he hurts you hear the sting. LEAD ON is like a greatest hits package: diverse, familiar, and of the highest quality. Only George Strait can pull off such a feat with ten new songs.

- An overlooked good record

George's Strait discography has always been consistently good. This CD was never much in light, but it is excellent, with even a few gems like the cajun-flavored "Adalida", and the moving "Down Louisiana Way" which were not included in his fabulous box-set. Buy and listen. Paul LeBoutillier

- Pretty good album that was overlooked

The first thing I noticed was this was the first Strait album with lyrics included in the liner notes, which was nice of them to finally do.

My favorite songs on this one are Nobody Has To Get Hurt and I'll Always Be Loving You. Both have solid melodies and choruses that practically force you to sing along. Nice, creative idea on Nobody. Lead On is very The Chair-ish, as both do great jobs at examining the initial stages of a relationship. You Can't Make A Heart delivers an impressive and overlooked message, and I Met A Friend relates a realistic scenario to the meltdown of a couple.

Adalida and Big One are songs that start to get away from him a few times, with Adalida being perhaps the only substance-free song on the album. George's weakest songs have always been at least listenable and above average. This applies to What Am I Waiting.

Overall, this is a solid album, but lacks the one gotta-have, instant-classic tune that many of Strait's other albums possess.

- One Of George's Best Albums.

I Like This Album. It Was Released In The Fall Of 1994. The Lead-Off Single "The Big One" Went Strait To Number 1. So Didn't "You Can't Make A Heart Love Somebody". The Title Track Is Also Another Love Balled. Buy This CD Today.

However, there is nuance. If you are looking for because you already own the physical Italian book and want a digital backup for travel? That’s a personal ethical gray zone. But if you are searching because you want it for free? That’s harder to justify. A Better Path: Legal & Beautiful Alternatives If you want to read The Silmarillion (or Il Silmarillion ) without breaking the bank or the law, here is the real strategy: 1. The Library (Physical & Digital) Most public libraries have a copy of The Silmarillion . Even better, apps like Libby or CloudLibrary allow you to borrow the official eBook for free. Legally. The wait time is often zero. 2. The Audiobook Do you struggle with the dense prose? The audiobook narrated by Martin Shaw (English) or the recent production by Andy Serkis is phenomenal. Hearing the Music of the Ainur is a different experience entirely. 3. Buy Used Abebooks, eBay, or your local used bookstore have copies of The Silmarillion for as little as $4. The 1977 first edition paperback with the iconic cover art is often cheaper than a coffee. 4. For Italian Readers ( Il Silmarillion specific) If you specifically need Il Silmarillion (the Bompiani edition is the standard), check Libraccio or Subito.it for used copies. The official eBook is also available on Amazon Italy and Kobo for roughly €9.99—less than a pizza. The Final Verdict Do not search for Il Silmarillion PDF .

Tolkien wrote mythology to be felt, not just consumed. A grimy PDF on a phone screen cannot replicate the awe of opening to The Silmarillion and reading the first words: "There was Eru, the One, who in Arda is called Ilúvatar; and he made first the Ainur, the Holy Ones, that were the offspring of his thought..." That sentence deserves a real page. Go find one. Did you struggle to find a legal copy of The Silmarillion? Let me know in the comments where you finally found yours—or if you think PDFs are fair game for out-of-print translations. il silmarillion pdf

There is a specific kind of magic that happens when a reader finishes The Lord of the Rings for the first time. You close the book, stare at the wall, and feel a profound ache. You know there is a deeper history—whispers of a Dark Enemy, a Silmaril, and a city called Gondolin. However, there is nuance

Instead, search for The Silmarillion in your library’s catalog. Or save up for the illustrated edition. The act of waiting, of holding the physical map, of struggling with the genealogies in the appendix—that struggle is the experience. But if you are searching because you want it for free

Sharing a full PDF without payment is not "sticking it to the man." It is taking money away from the Tolkien Estate—the very institution that funds further scholarship, new illustrated editions, and the preservation of the Professor’s legacy.
