Inside, Kumud is alone in the courtyard, singing a bhajan. She stops. She feels someone watching. She turns.

Her sister-in-law, , smirks from the doorway.
He doesn’t move. He just looks at her. She walks slowly toward the gate. Her hand reaches through the bars. Their fingers touch.
enters, graceful but sad. She wears a simple saree, no jewelry except a thin mangalsutra (though they aren’t married yet – in this show, it’s a promise thread). She touches Saraswatichandra’s portrait gently.
“Your name. It’s been beating inside me all this time. I couldn’t keep it any longer. It’s yours.”
