Leo stared at the flashing cursor on his laptop screen. The application was called WiFi Hacker Simulator 2022 – Premium Edition . He’d downloaded it from a banner ad that promised "1337 H4X0R SK1LLZ NO RISK." The icon was a cartoon of a guy in a hoodie holding a glowing router.
The interface was a matrix of green text on a black background. At the top, in a neon-blue box, it read: wifi hacker simulator 2022 configuration
He tried to close the tab. The browser froze.
Below it, a final configuration option was highlighted in blinking red:

Leo reached for the power cord. But the cursor moved on its own. It hovered over the button, typed a single message in the log, and then the screen went dark for good.
He clicked . A sub-menu exploded onto the screen: "Simulation complete
It had pre-filled Mrs. Gable’s SSID. A template appeared:
Then his phone buzzed.
The last line of the log read:
"Time to practice my 'hacking,'" Leo muttered, sipping his energy drink.
The program ignored him.
